About the Author

I am Chris Duesing, the driving force behind Durable Vintage. With a career in sustainability spanning nearly two decades, I have been at the forefront of efforts to create a more sustainable future. My journey began in 2006 at the Chicago Climate Exchange, where I worked to develop and implement market-based solutions to climate change. Later, as the technical co-founder of Mercaris, I played a pivotal role in building a price reporting agency that supports the growth of organic agriculture.

Most recently, I returned to academia to deepen my expertise in sustainability, architectural, and speculative design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My unique blend of technical knowledge and creative vision informs every piece of content on this platform, ensuring that it is both informative and innovative. I am passionate about helping others understand the critical importance of sustainable design and how it can be applied to create buildings that are not only beautiful but also environmentally responsible.
